Research interests: archaeozoology, archaeomalacology, Palaeolithic, Mesolithic, Neolithic, Prehistory, Quaternary mammals, Pleistocene.

My research interests are related to animals and various aspects of the human-animal relationships in the past, especially in the Paleolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic of the Balkan peninsula. When it comes to the Pleistocene fauna, I pay the most attention to the remains of mammals from cave deposits, the age of the deposits from which they originate, the reconstruction of environmental conditions, and the taphonomic processes that take place in caves inhabited by people and animals. In studying Mesolithic and Neolithic sites, I mostly dealt with the transition between these two periods and the early stages of animal domestication. Among my areas of interest, I also include archaeomalacology, especially the use and trade routes of sea mollusc shell jewellery, including fossil ones, in prehistoric times.
